This Request for Proposals (the 'RFP') is an invitation by the Province of Nova Scotia (the 'Province') to prospective proponents to submit proposals for undertaking an Economic Impact Study on the Maine to Nova Scotia Ferry Service for the Department of Public Works.

Deadline for RFP is 2023/07/24.

There continues to be concern about declining ridership numbers on Bay Ferries with the Progressive Conservatives looking for reasons to cut funding to the heavily subsidized ferry operations. Bay Ferries is a private company the operates what used to be operated as a Crown company.

Any report will likely used by the government as a reason to reduce support for routes.

The Teamsters issued a statement saying that UPS (NYSE: UPS) walked away from the bargaining table at 4 a.m. after presenting an unacceptable offer to the Teamsters that did not address members’ needs. The UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee unanimously rejected the package.
