Dealing with inter-generational and demographic issues when it comes to retraining, technological change, and major changes to investment affecting retirement and pensions.

Purpose#

  • To identify that there are other options to re-training for workers who may be impacted by shifting investments and/or technological change who are nearer the end of their careers.

Not all workers are able to go through re-training programs because of the time left in their careers. Retirement programs and pensions must be structured with this knowledge to protect those workers.

This should include "early retirement" programs, but should be expanded to talk about pension obligations and shifting work arrangements for different age demographics.
